The independent engineering desk you call when the lift cannot fail.
JMR Lifting is a lifting engineering consultancy. We plan the lift, calculate the lift, review someone else's lift plan, or generate one with AI. We do not own cranes, we do not sell equipment — that keeps us independent. That independence is what our clients pay for.
Independent by design.
We plan, we calculate, we review — but we do not lift. That means when we sign off on a lift plan, our signature is worth something.
No fleet, no bias
We do not own cranes. We choose the right crane for your lift — not the one we happen to have parked.
Engineering-led, not sales-led
Every recommendation is a calculation you can audit. We show our maths and our reasoning.
Documents that survive review
Our deliverables hold up in front of clients, contractors, insurers, and regulators. That is what independence looks like.
Founder-led. Network-backed.
JMR Lifting Solutions & Engineering is led by its founder, a LEEA Certified Appointed Person with 20+ years of international heavy-lift and rigging experience, including offshore oil and gas work in West Africa. For larger or multi-disciplinary projects, JMR draws on a trusted network of certified Appointed Persons and Lifting Specialists for project-specific engagement.
Directly engineered by the founder
Every lift plan, calculation, and technical review is authored or personally signed off by the LEEA Certified Appointed Person leading the practice. No hand-offs to junior staff. No white-labelled work.
Certified network on demand
For multi-crane, multi-discipline, or geographically distributed scopes, we bring in vetted Appointed Persons and Lifting Specialists on a project-specific basis — credentials confirmed, scope contracted, deliverables reviewed under the JMR standard.
No overstated headcount
We do not pretend to be a 50-person firm. What you engage is focused senior engineering — augmented, when the work demands it, by professionals we know and trust.
Where our work goes.
Thirteen sectors, one engineering discipline. If it involves a crane and a critical load, we have engineered around it.
The frameworks behind our work.
We do not claim third-party certification we do not hold. What we do promise: every document we produce is engineered against the internationally recognised lifting engineering codes below.
“JMR Lifting produces engineering documents that align with the codes of practice used by insurers, regulators, and major clients worldwide. Certification is a service we recommend for equipment; discipline is what we bring to the paperwork.”

- LEEA CoPSULECode of Practice for the Safe Use of Lifting Equipment
- DNV-ST-N001Marine operations and marine warranty

Twenty years in the field. Every rung climbed.
From crane operator to LEEA Certified Appointed Person. Three continents. One discipline. Every lift plan I sign is grounded in operational reality — because I have stood at every level of the operation.
"I spent years in the field watching good projects go sideways because the lift plan was wrong, the calculations were missing, or the review was rushed. JMR Lifting is the desk I wanted to call — independent, technical, fast."
"If your lift matters, we should talk."
The 20-year progression.
Founder-led. Network-backed.
JMR Lifting Solutions & Engineering is directed by Muthuraj Jeyabal — LEEA Certified Appointed Person with 20 years of international heavy-lift and rigging experience across India, Kuwait, and offshore Africa.
Every lift plan we sign is authored and reviewed by the founder personally. It is our accountability model: one Appointed Person on the document, one signature, one phone number when something needs to be discussed at 2 am.
For larger or multi-disciplinary projects, JMR draws on a trusted network of certified Lifting Supervisors and Appointed Persons, engaged on a project-specific basis. We scale the team to the scope of the work — never the other way round. You always know exactly who is signing off on your lift.
Every lift plan is drafted, calculated, and signed by the LEEA Appointed Person named on the document. No ghost-signed reviews.
Where a project needs an on-site Lifting Supervisor or a second Appointed Person for parallel operations, we engage certified professionals from our network — vetted, insured, and briefed on the plan.
We do not pretend to be a large in-house crew. We are a specialist engineering desk that scales with certified partners when the scope demands it — and we tell you exactly who is doing what before the contract is signed.
LEEA Certified Appointed Person.
The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) is the world's most respected authority in lifting equipment safety. The Appointed Person for Lifting Operations qualification is the recognised international standard for the individual accountable for planning and directing a lift.
All lifts planned and engineered under JMR Lifting Solutions & Engineering are directed by a LEEA Certified Appointed Person, in accordance with BS 7121, LOLER 1998, and ASME B30 international lifting standards.
